When I Grow Up

Black Eyed Peas

Pyramid Stage, Saturday evening, Glastonbury 2004

I think they were only band the brought their own support/warm-up act! Some rapper guy came on for a while; and he was pretty good, but everyone was getting restless. Eventually the band came on and you’ve certainly got to give them credit for their energy. I felt a little bit sorry for the guy who was doing some pretty nifty dance-floor moves, as the camera mainly just followed the cheekbone girl who everyone fancies. She didn’t disappoint the crowds though, and did her bum-shaking bit; which, let’s face it, most of the audience was there to see!

I do love a band at Glastonbury who goes on stage to give a proper show for us. There are too many who come on, sing their songs, collect their fee and leave. But the Black Eyes Peas were big performers and kept our attention by having fun. My only complain was that sometimes the funky drum instrumentals went on a bit too long. But a band worth going to see, definitely.
