What You Waiting For

I think this woman is fantastic! Never mind the music – she deserves full credit for being able to dance and strut around in those towering high heels.
This debut solo single is a brilliant first track to get everyone’s attention. I hope the rest are going to be so good. It must be difficult to launch yourself as a solo female performer and be original, but Gwen seems to do this effortlessly. Her voice is totally unique and she’s one of the very few people these days who sings live on Top of the Pops, proving that her talent and funny warbling notes aren’t made up in the studio. I also love her performances and the effort she goes to entertain us – the costumes and the set design and the dancing. I saw No Doubt at Glastonbury a few years ago and I’ve never seen so much energy on stage!
The music video is equally interesting, in which Gwen takes on the various characters from Alice in Wonderland – mixed in with scenes of her making up the song at the piano in some sort of studio. Again, it’s lively and interesting and I’m very impressed.
