by Babyliss. “Colour your hair to match your mood!”
I am so impressed with this gadget! This has to be one of the best things my daughter received for Christmas – so often these girly things look so good on the adverts, but are crap when you try to use them.
It’s a little hand held battery operated (batteries even included!) hair highlighter. You simply choose your colour and slot it inside, then you put the hair in the compartment and press the button as you slide it down your hair. Small brushes spin round taking the colour off the palette and brushing it onto the hair. I thought this was going to be a nightmare to clean, but I just needed to pull out the brushes and give them a quick rinse under the tap.
I also expected the colours to run out quickly, but there are plenty included and I think it will last for years. I’m so impressed! And it will save me so much time in June. I always dye my hair pink for Glastonbury and do streaks in the kids’ hair too. So I cover them in old t-shirts, find a paintbrush and paint streaks of pink in their hair; then I have sit them in front of the telly for an hour hoping they don’t touch anything while it works it’s magic; then washing it out without making a mess of the bathroom is difficult. This wonderful gadget will save me all that trouble. And it washes out in one wash so they won’t get told off at school either.
One warning though. IT says in the instructions that you have to make sure you hold it the right way up otherwise the hair will tangle. Well there’s a helpful ‘This Way Up’ written on it; but on my one, it’s actually up-side-down, so my daughter’s hair did get tangled up the first time. So check you can slide it down the hair before you press the button. I don’t know whether this is a one-off fault on my one, or whether they’ve made a massive cock-up and actually they all have to have the writing the wrong way round to work properly.
Anyway, this is a highly recommended present for all girls who like dressing up for a party. I think next year when my daughter’s ten, she’ll be able to use it by herself.
