When I Grow Up

An Iron Age hillfort near St Columb Major, Cornwall.

I’m back from my holiday!! I had a great two weeks travelling accross the south of England; going from Kent; all the way to Cornwall, and then taking just over a week coming back again. So I had plenty of opportunites for more reviews! Much of the holiday was spent researching the Iron Age, so if you’re interested in that period of history, then stick around on this website.

I’ve also started a new section under Reviews, for things to and places to visit; I’ll be moving some of my old reviews that will fit into that catagory over the next few days. For now, it starts off with my visit to Castle-an-dinas, a hillfort in Cornwall.

This one has pretty easy access as it’s only a short walk from the car park – but beware – you don’t want to go looking for it in a cool lowered vehicle – you won’t make it up the track! Another warning: sheep’s poo is everywhere – do not attempt to wear flip-flops.

You can see for miles, but unfortuntely the view is no where near as nice as it was years ago, as all around there are factories and quarry buildings. We stayed around to watch the sun set over the sea, and it’s a lovely place to go for peace and quiet. It was also fun watching a group of young goats playing near us.

An information board said a bit about the iron age structure and the wildlife.
