When I Grow Up

Camping and Touring Park. (Or simply ‘Campsite’ to most people). In Mawgan Porth, near Newquay, Cornwall

This is a very small campsite and the pitches are tiny – we had no room for even an awning on our camper if we wanted one, so don’t expect a lot of privacy. However, this site does have other things going for it; mainly that it is a very short, flat walk to the beach of Mawgan Porth (so you don’t have to pay £2.50 every day for the car park). All pitches are level; the toilets are clean and the owners are friendly.

Showers are on a 10p meter (lasting about 3 minutes). It cost us £15 a night for 2 adults and 2 children with an electric hook up. There are no extra facilities, and you have to do the washing up in the toilet area. Though they do provide washing up liquid and there’s speakers with the local radio on!

Overall this site is ideal if you know you’ll be on the beach or visiting other places all day, but too small if you want to relax by your tent/caravan.
