(And a mention of Black Magic) Hmmmm…………….
It’s not my birthday, it’s not an anniversary; it’s not Christmas yet; I’m not depressed; I’m not even on my period, but I am sitting here eating through a nice big box of dark chocolates. (That’s the chocolates themselves, not the actual box btw). Every now and then my husband just surprises me with a little present. (Before all you wives groan – he really isn’t big on flowers. I have to buy my own flowers no matter what the occasion. (I know he’s really feeling guilty when it’s flowers!))
I love dark chocolates. They are just so much richer than milk chocolate. The higher amount of iron in them is good for my blood too. (Well that’s what I’m convincing myself right now). I barely ever buy a chocolate bar from the newsagent because Twixes, Kitkats, Flakes, Twirls etc only ever rarely come in dark chocolate in a special edition.
So anyway, at Christmas I was given a box of Black Magic and I have to say frankly I was quite disappointed. There were a few I liked, but there were probably more that were just ok, or even didn’t like at all. For a start there were far too many that were coffee flavoured. So I told him not to get that type of chocolates again. (Though much later. At the time I was polite and grateful :o)
And this time I have Terry’s All Gold Dark chocolates and they are delicious. Though definitely a box to avoid if you’re allergic to nuts as there are loads with nuts in them; which is great for me as those are my favourites. The coffee flavoured ones are even mild enough for me to eat. So the only ones I give away are the fudge ones! Gorgeous, gorgeous gorgeous. And for £3.98 from Sainsburys; 2 large layers; I think they are definitely worth it.
