We’ve just come home from a family holiday driving around California. So, inbetween updates on the renovating, I’ll be doing reviews of the places we stayed and attractions we visited. I’m starting with Motel 6 in Hollywood.
It was the first place we stayed at and was a good start to the holiday. The best thing about it was the convenience of its location – the only affordable place to stay within walking distance of the Hollywood tourist attractions. It had parking – though limited so the keys were often left with the valet person and you had to be prepared to wait while he moved other cars out the way for you. It also cost $10 a night, but still cheaper than staying further away and then parking somewhere else. We had a slight concern about being so close the the Hollywood Boulevard – having watched Pretty Woman – but it was absolutely fine. Apart from some drunken shouting outside on the first night, there were no problems for the three nights we stayed there. It’s also easy to get to Universal Studios from there.
The room was fairly spacious and all was clean and comfortable, but basic. Fine for our needs. Tea and coffee in the mornings included. Would definitely recommend this motel to others.
