When I Grow Up

I’ve had a hectic week this week. After the New Forest Fairy Festival, I had two days to do about six months-worth of cleaning before my parents came to stay! This is the outfit I wore when we went out for a lovely meal together. I thought I’d take the opportunity to wear these gorgeous wedge sandals from Faith that I can barely walk in, considering I only had to get from the car to the pub and back again! It’s not that they’re too tall – the style of the platform wedge makes them fine in that respect; but the lack of ankle support is the problem. That back heel strap keeps slipping down turning the shoes pretty much into flip-flops. Not ideal when you’re four inches off the ground! None-the-less, as you can see, they are just too pretty not to wear….

Joe Browns ditsy dress

The ditsy floral brown dress was from Joe Browns a few years ago and I still love the quirky look. All Saints did a similar one called the Parachute Dress, and when I get down to a size to fit in All Saints clothing, I’m going to scour e-bay for one! I wore it with leggings as the dress has a pretty short hem in places and has a tendency to fly up to my chest with the slightest breeze. Better to be on the safe side!

Wedge sandals

The dusky pink cardigan is from New Look and is several years old. I wear it to death every summer as it’s so lightweight and goes with everything. The shell necklace came from a bundle I bought from ebay when I was doing a mermaid photoshoot for Oshun and wanted shell accessories.

Shop the look (My items are all a few years old, so these are similar):

And as usual, I am linking up with Not Dressed As Lamb for #IwillwearwhatIlike

How many pairs of shoes do you own that can only be worn out to dinner?!
