When I Grow Up

Our new garden

This is the start of my garden blog. I’m so excited!

I’m not a proffessional gardener, or even a good one, so I’ve got lots to learn and I’m going to share those experiences with you. After all, I can’t be the only person starting out and hopefully I’ll be of use to someone.

I’ve recently moved from a small garden (mostly filled by a trampoline, swings and paddling pool) in West Kent, to a large one on a mendip hill in Somerset. The plans for this garden began several weeks before we actually moved, using memory, estate agent photos and my husband even measuring it for me from Google maps! I spent many a pleasurable evening designing the flower beds and planning waht plants I’d need for interest thoughout the year. From what we’d seen, it didn’t look as though there were many plants, so I was basically going to be starting from scratch and I couldn’t wait to get started. The problem was, we viewed the house (and garden) late January, and we moved in late May.
