When I Grow Up

Living with builders

The wall coming down

The progress so far, and how I’m coping.

It’s weird when the builders are here. I suppose it’s obvious that I can’t carry on as normal, but there are little things that are disturbing my life as well as the dust and the constant banging. My morning routine has changed as I have to get dressed first, instead of making the packed lunches in my dressing gown in case they come early. I can’t do my workout videos in the living room in case one of them sees me. I can’t sit on the settee and watch telly in an extended lunch break in case they think I’m lazy. And despite their typical builder’s attire, I’ve found myself staying in the clothes I wear on the school run, instead of changing into my baggy saggy round-the-house clothes during the day! Worst of all, I can’t talk to myself like I normally do in case they think I’m crazy!

The wall and stairs are gone!
