Weekly Wardrobe – A pop of colour

This week’s theme at NotDressedAsLamb for #IwillWearWhatILike was a little easier for me to follow, as I do have a few items of brightly coloured clothing, though when it came to looking at my wardrobe(s), not as many as I thought. Last week was pretty uneventful for me, as I’ve still been sewing away at the Bottle Bags and Cup Carriers for Glastonbury Festival – it was quite a relief when I handed them all in a couple of days ago. So the clothing I’ve included in this post is not for any particular occasion….

Walking Loki in the field wearing a dress I bought at Glastonbury Festival. The purpley leggings were from Tesco and the purple hoody was from QS. My green wellies I bought at Truro market about twelve years ago, finally gave up the ghost, so last week I bought these simple black Dunlop ones, which so far, have been fine. Everyone knows Dunlops are way cooler than Hunters now anyway 😉

 

This cardigan from Joe Browns is my favourite one ever, and I really wish they’d do the design again as I now have holes in this one. I always get compliments on how flattering it is – although as it’s not done up in these photos, that’s difficult to see. The beige linen mix trousers are from New Look and the fuchsia pink vest top, also from New Look certainly provides a pop of colour. I’ll have to be careful when wearing that top – sometimes it’s only when you see photos you realise how booby something is!

The shell necklace was bought as a bundle on ebay when I was doing a mermaid photo-shoot for Oshun.
The stripy shoes are BlowFish and were bought at a TK Maxx. I didn’t have any stripy clothes for last week’s #IWillWearWhatILike link-up theme, but now I’ve realised I could at least have photographed these shoes!

 

My pop of colour for this outfit clearly comes from the red cross-over cardigan style top, which I bought recently from Lindybop. Underneath is a simple black vest top from New Look and the skirt is from Bohemia at Glastonbury Festival. (I think I’ve mentioned before how most of my clothes come from there!)
The red strappy shoes were from Jones and must be very old as I distinctly remember pushing one of the kids in a pushchair when I bought them in London. So for approximately twenty years old, they’ve lasted well, although the coating is just starting to chip off, which is a shame. I must look into whether there’s anything I can do to help prevent that happening more.

Next week the Weekly Wardrobe pictures will be taken at Glastonbury Festival, so the background will be colourful even if I won’t be!
