When I Grow Up

Weekly Wardrobe – New York & Washington

I’m currently on holiday. Yay! Chris, Rain, Jude and I began in New York and are currently in Washington DC. So instead of Somerset farmland in the background, it’ll be nice to have a change of scenery for these style inspiration posts. Please forgive my lack of words and links – I thought this was going to go live 3 days ago, but the internet here disagrees.
(Ps. Now I’m home I’ve added some more info.)

I bought this dress in a vintage stall at Glastonbury Festival a couple of years ago. It has a very ’70’s looking label inside saying Miss Girl. I thought it would be pretty unusual, but happened to see someone wearing the exact same dress at the New Forest Fairy Festival last year! We stopped by this fountain for a bit of a sit down while we got our bearings. It was our first day in New York and this is in a square near the City Hall.

This was our day in Central Park, which is huge by the way, and we didn’t cover even half of it. This Lagenlook top was from Next a few years ago. I love this one, which is the nearest thing I could find:

and I bought the brown bloomers at Glastonbury Festival this year. These are similar:

Here I am, posing on the steps of the New York Natural History Museum while we waited for an Uber. I absolutely love this dress and a couple of American strangers even complimented me on it, which was lovely. I bought it from Primark just before the holiday, so if you like it, it might still be in the shops. Be warned though, I had to go two sizes up for a nice fit, and it is pretty see-through so skin-coloured underwear is essential. If you can’t find it, here’s an alternative:

These photos were in Washington in the same Next top as earlier, but this time with Rosa Bloom bloomers. Unfortunately she isn’t selling these any more, but I love her new collection.
