Afterlife

New Drama Series On Saturdays, ITV 9:10 starring Lesley Sharp, Andrew Lincoln

This drama is about a psychology lecturer, Robert Bridge and psychic medium, Alison Mundy. Last week’s episode involved one of Robert’s students finding out her dead mother is watching over her and ultimately committing suicide. Despite his sceptisism, Robert is planning on writing a book about Alison; beginning with thinking she was another bingo-hall fake show, but getting doubts when she sees his dead son.

The script was very good and the acting was great from all characters and I’ll definitely be continuing to watch this series. I’m looking forward to seeing what tomorrow’s story will be about and how Robert’s son will be part of it.

The romance of a well
November 18, 2016
I was pretty much brought up on Enid Blyton and it instilled in me a desire to live in a cute cottage in a countryside village. A well in the garden would be an added bonus. Well, although more of a farmhouse than a cottage, I am lucky enough to have fulfilled that dream. We were told by the previous owner that the well in the garden used to also serve the farmworkers’ cottages opposite. The path leading from the well to an iron gate half way down the garden would suggest that’s true. We live at the top of a hill, and as far as I’m aware, the only other well at the top of the hill in Somerset is in a small village called Kilmersdon, which is famous for the Jack and Jill nursery rhyme. Wouldn’t it be cool if that’s a mistake and it was actually our well? Haha!….
Boots No 7 LIFT & luminate Day cream review
March 8, 2017
For me there’s a fine line between looking young and dewy, and looking fat and sweaty. This is the problem of having a round chubby face, and I’ve always gone as matte as possible with my make-up to avoid the second scenario as much as possible. However, as Boots no7 changed the formula of their Protect and Perfect Day cream, and I wasn’t as impressed as I was with their older version, I thought I would try out this one, which is part of their new Lift & Luminate range…..
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them review (no spoilers)
November 20, 2016
This is just a quick extra post because I went to watch this film last night and thought it was absolutely fantastic! As Harry Potter fans, we were very excited in this household and the kids and I dressed up for the occasion in 1920’s style outfits! We ate a meal first at the Frankie & Benny’s opposite the Cineworld cinema in Yeovil (which, by the way is hugely improved from last time we went there – I think they’ve employed new kitchen staff) and sneaked pudding, in the form of chocolate buttons, in my bag into Screen eight!….
Rogue theatre company review
Review of The Firebird by the Rogue Theatre Company in Cornwall
August 31, 2018
Imagine, if you will, being met by a fairy at the edge of magical woodland, and led down a secret pathway shaded by old twisted rowan and chattering leaves of beech, but lit by glinting lights strung through the branches. Each way you turn you’re met with strange and eerie settings of mysterious white princess bedrooms, strangely metallic baby clothes hanging on a line; gothic ravens adorning old books; abandoned tea parties disturbingly strewn with red; and odd antique paintings foreseeing the future; each with its character singing, dancing or otherwise performing as you pass. And that’s just the beginning…..
