Hex

On Sky One Starring :Christina Cole – Cassie; Jamie Davis – Leon; Michael Fassbender – Azazeal; Geraldine James – Lilith Hughes; Joseph Morgan – Troy; Alison Newman – Rev. George; Jemima Rooper – Thelma; Amber Sainsbury – Roxanne; Colin Salmon – David Tyrell; Zoe Tapper – Gemma
Anna Wilson-Jones – Jo Watkins

Oooh it was a good episode on Sunday! Finally the vicar was sorted out – yay! Thelma is no longer wearing that silly leapard print top – yay! lots of tense fighting – yay! Saucy sex scene – yay!

But it does look like Cassie is definitely not coming back, which is a shame; I really didn’t think that Hex could go on without her, and her death was a huge shock. Ella is doing a great job as main demon-fighting girl though and her acting as crazy demented person last week and the week before was just brilliant. The dynamics between Ella and Thelma isn’t as good, but I suppose that will come in time. But anything is possible now, and it would be a shame if Ella was killed off just as we were getting to know her. I don’t think she will be though.

I’m still loving this series. I’m still highly recommending it too. Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans should love it, espcially.

Burlesque Wonderland – Alice through the Martini glass at The Fleece in Bristol
October 5, 2016
From blackberries yesterday to burlesque today! And why not? Rain didn’t really know what to do to celebrate her twenty-first birthday. She had originally planned a day of wand-making (yes really) with her two best friends, followed by films and a sleepover. Then Jude spotted this event in Bristol just a couple of days beforehand and we all decided that we’d quite like to go. So the wand-making stopped early for everyone to change into their Alice in Wonderland Costumes….
Rogue theatre company review
Review of The Firebird by the Rogue Theatre Company in Cornwall
August 31, 2018
Imagine, if you will, being met by a fairy at the edge of magical woodland, and led down a secret pathway shaded by old twisted rowan and chattering leaves of beech, but lit by glinting lights strung through the branches. Each way you turn you’re met with strange and eerie settings of mysterious white princess bedrooms, strangely metallic baby clothes hanging on a line; gothic ravens adorning old books; abandoned tea parties disturbingly strewn with red; and odd antique paintings foreseeing the future; each with its character singing, dancing or otherwise performing as you pass. And that’s just the beginning…..
What to do with your leftover rhubarb
September 28, 2016
Rhubarb is virtually indestructible and is about the only fruit or vegetable I can rely on in the garden! My rhubarb was inherited from previous owners of our old house and moved with us to this one, so is at least seventeen years old. It just keeps on and on growing from March until the first hard frost. If you’re the same and still have some left and are bored of rhubarb crumble and thinking, What shall I do with my rhubarb? then here’s a couple of suggestions: Rhubarb streusels and rhubarb muffins. Both these recipes have been adapted from magazines, and you’ll need plenty of paper cupcake cases. The streusels especially, are a hit in the family…..
