Endeavour

In knowing  Morse’s first name, I always thought I’d win a point in a pub quiz one day. It never came up, and I’ve never done a pub quiz. It isn’t likely to be a question now anyway, but I watched this programme last night and absolutely loved it! Catch it on the ITV i-player thing if you haven’t seen it yet. It was a great story-line and the theme tune made me go all tingly! I loved the (slightly cheesy) exchange between the new Morse, and the character played by John Thaw’s daughter: ‘Have we met before?’ ‘Perhaps in another life’ !

My only criticism is that there are clearly not enough British actors to go round. I kept thinking I’d seen them in Morse, so I had IMDB open and it turned out 2 of the main characters had been in episodes of Lewis, and one was the driving instructor what dunnit in an old Morse.

I really hope ITV turn it into a proper series.

Birthday dinner at The Kingsdon Inn, nr Somerton, Somerset
May 9, 2016
It was my birthday! And what better way to celebrate than going out and have someone else cook for you. And clear away. Yeeees! I absolutely love eating out. It’s just such a pity that one meal out for the four of us costs about the same as our weekly shop from Tescos. But you see, (as I sometimes remember to remind myself) if you did it every day, it wouldn’t be special, would it? My lovely daughter, Rain did the research, and hunted out all restaurants within a reasonable distance that served Duck, being that duck is my favourite meal. The Kingsdon Inn came up as one of the top twenty restaurants in Somerset, and when my husband phoned to check food serving hours, it turned out you need to book well in advance if you want a table. We were lucky and got the second-to-last one; which is not what you’d expect for somewhere truly out in the sticks….
10 ideas to help you get through the day
January 29, 2017
I’m writing this on the dreariest January day ever with rain pouring down and freezing cold hands; it’s barely surprising that we are likely to feel depressed at this time of year. Some are lucky enough to only feel low in spirits every now and then, while others suffer with melancholia so bad they lose hope of never feeling that way again. The best way to deal with those times is usually distraction. By all means, take a little time to yourself if you need it, but then I think the best thing to do is find something else to keep your mind occupied. Here are some ideas…..
