Bottle Bags

bottlebags1My latest crafty project is making bottle bags. I use luxury fabrics like velvet, brocade, tapestry, satin etc – all recycled from posh curtains or off-cuts or samples. I thought they would be perfect for the festival season and are now for sale at Oshun’s Etsy shop. I’m also very excited that they are being sold by Gallery Eight Glastonbury in the Park field during Glastonbury festival!
Incidentally, the photoshoot with the bottle bags was in a beautiful secret corner of the festival site  🙂bottlebags5

Sustainable Fashion – a talk with Livia Firth
April 23, 2016
If money weren’t an issue, I would have been up and down to Bath all through its Fashion Week, and despite entering every competition I could find, I did not win any tickets to the fashion shows. I did however buy a ticket to see this event with Livia Firth in conversation with fashion writer, Avril Groom. As you probably know, I make and sell clothes by recycling/repurposing/reclaiming/upcycling (insert favourite buzz-word here) unwanted fabrics with my clothing label Oshun, so sustainable fashion is something I am very interested in….
Joe Browns favourites from the new catalogue
October 16, 2016

By the way, this post isn’t sponsored or paid for by Joe Browns, I’m just a big fan of their clothes – they have quirky unusual styles that are very wearable and more than any other brand, my wardrobe is filled with items from this catalogue. If you like brightly coloured prints, then this is definitely the company for you, but if you’re more like me and prefer plain or subtle designs, then there is still plenty to choose from. Here are some of my favourites…..
Weekly Wardrobe – A pop of colour
June 23, 2016
This week’s theme at NotDressedAsLamb for #IwillWearWhatILike was a little easier for me to follow, as I do have a few items of brightly coloured clothing, though when it came to looking at my wardrobe(s), not as many as I thought. Last week was pretty uneventful for me, as I’ve still been sewing away at the Bottle Bags and Cup Carriers for Glastonbury Festival – it was quite a relief when I handed them all in a couple of days ago. So the clothing I’ve included in this post is not for any particular occasion….
