At Glastonbury 2005, headlining Pyramid Stage on saturday.
I missed the beginning of Coldplay as we were watching the fire show in the theatre field, but I caught the last three quarters of an hour. We were sat up on the top of the hill as it’s too dangerous to take the kids right in the thick of the crowds, but my enjoyment of the show was hampered by a group of really really annoying people talking very loudly right in front of me and kept blocking my view.
But when I went further down for a few songs I really felt that everyone was loving the show and Chris Martin’s energy and movement while playing the piano rivals Jamie Cullum! He either feels truly passionate about music or he is a very good actor and I’d always enjoy watching a band who are enjoying themselves.
Some of the slower songs seemed to go on for too long for me! But the Kylie cover of Can’t Get You Out of my Head made up for that. They captured everyone’s attention and I didn’t see anyone leaving before the set was finished – which is a remarkable thing at Glastonbury!
