I still haven’t worked out what to do when I grow up! I’m mainly a writer, an artist, and a fairytale dressmaker with various crafty hobbies! Here (and on YouTube) I share bits of my life, thoughts, and what I’m learning along the way. Let’s find magic and inspiration; join me for this creative living adventure!

A silly poem for Valentine’s Day

national trust house

Can you guess who it’s about before the end? (This was just a little homework exercise with Writers’ group.)

Foolish people think you’re haughty,
Reserved, distant and aloof.
But I know different; it’s just shyness;
I even have written-down proof.
You’re a fine tall person with handsome features.
I’ve imagined them while I read.
“A generous, gentleman-like manner;
An upright nature and well bred.”
Your ten-thousand a year could be quite handy
and I’ve heard Derbyshire’s a nice place.
We’d walk in the park and stop by a fountain
for a passionate embrace.
Oh my love, my one true love
(apart from my husband of course)
if you were real and here today
I’d even consider divorce.
Your smouldering eyes and tousled black hair –
I feel emotion from within.
Ok, I’m thinking of Colin Firth,
A wet, white shirt clinging to your skin.
Either way, I’d declare my ardent love,
As a couple we’d be so classy.
And Pemberley would be such a lovely home
for me and Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy.
