Dirty Dancing Live Tour September 25, 2011 I took Rain and Jude to watch the matinee at Bristol Hippodrome yesterday and we loved it! Here’s my full review:
The Many Expressions of our dog, Ziggy. September 9, 2011 It’s 2am and I can’t sleep. Yesterday – well day before yesterday I suppose – morning our beloved dog Ziggy died suddenly of a heart attack while he was happily running up the hill towards us. To help me deal with the grief, I have just written this…
Threads of a Fairytale / Oshun Interview August 8, 2011 Oshun has been featured on a cool website called HeartHandmade, about all things beautifully crafted. I’m very chuffed about it! Have a look at my interview HERE!
Stourhead National Trust Property in Wiltshire August 5, 2011 There aren’t many National Trust places near us, so on a year when we’re not travelling round England, we tend to visit the local places several times. Stourhead is one of these, and although I’ve done the gardens a couple of times, I’ve only just visited the house. These are my thoughts on whether it’s worth the visit…
“The first time I smelled that…” July 27, 2011 The little village of Pilton in Somerset has been home to many creative people, including authors such as Fay Weldon, John Le Carre and Guy Kennaway. Our writers’ group has been fortunate enough to have the company of Guy Kennaway recently; it’s so fascinating listening to a published author and having the opportunity to ask questions. A couple of weeks ago he gave us the line, “The first time I smelled that…” for our homework. We’d been talking about darker fiction involving children, which I think may have been the inspiration for me writing this…
Glastonbury Review 2011 – Circus & other bits July 13, 2011 We missed the circus tent last year due to the intense heat under canvas, however this wasn’t a problem for the first few days! On Friday we got to spend an hour or so in the circus big top, and on Saturday we watched The Infinite Monkey Cage in the Cabaret tent. Here’s my review of those sorts of acts I saw.
Glastonbury Festival 2011 music review July 1, 2011 Every year I intend on looking at the line-up and discovering some new bands before we go by looking their songs up on You Tube. Mostly, I run out of time and don’t do it at all, or I do it too soon and forget their names by the time of the festival. Next year I will I will I will! I want to know more good music! Anyway, this is my round-up of the musical acts that I did go and see.
Glastonbury Festival 2011 Review June 28, 2011 It will definitely be remembered as a muddy one, that’s for sure! My daughter can talk for hours on the different types of mud; its consistency and texture and her favourite types! A little bit of mud is not too much of a problem when it’s wet, it is when the mud starts to dry out it becomes more of a problem. It turns to glue. Getting out of the Other Stage field after Jessie J was nigh on impossible. My feet got stuck with every step and it was very painful struggling with my boots. Other than that, I’m not complaining – we were due a muddy one really.
Living by Glastonbury Festival. Part two June 16, 2011 ‘So, do you camp in the festival or go home?’ Is a question often asked of me these days. Of course I go home silly! (though I am much more polite when I actually say it.) Wouldn’t you? I suppose it’s not as simple as that really…
Festival fashion June 16, 2011 We all like to dress up for Glastonbury Festival (ok, that’s a sweeping generalisation based on me,) but there’s nothing worse than showing up at the coolest place on earth in boring old jeans and t-shirt. It’s just not fitting for the occasion. So take a look at www.oshun.co.uk There’s just time to receive your order for the festival next week. Here’s a few of my favourites…
Paul June 14, 2011 The alien comedy drama starring and written by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. 2 English guys travelling in a big campervan (RV) across America seeing the alien sights.
