I really wasn’t expecting a lot from this film actually. Heavily promoted Hollywood blockbusters with rating winner actors and a poster of a good-looking couple; don’t usually turn out to be of any interest to me really. However, this stands out from other Romantic action comedies and I would highly recommend you go and see this movie.
Mr and Mrs Smith are married and the film begins with the pair of them in a funny marriage therapy scene as they are bored with each other. Neither of them know that the other actually lives a very exciting double life as an assassin, but as it’s secret, there is little for them to talk about.
They work for competing agencies though, and the drama and action comes about because they are hired to kill each other, and therefore find out their real jobs. They almost succeed as they try to convince themselves they don’t care for their other half; but when they work out there is a conspiracy between their companies who set them up; it becomes a battle between the married couple and everyone else trying to kill them. Needless to say, there is a happy ending.
I really hope it wins the MTV movie awards Best Fight catagory for the scene where they mess up their house.
