Atlantis review – Saturday evenings on BBC1

I loved Robin Hood and it is definitely my favourite kids BBC drama (well, up to the point where they stupidly killed off Marian). It took a couple of episodes to get into it, but I really enjoyed Merlin as well (forgetting the last episode which contains the most stupid decision in BBC drama history). So now we have Atlantis…

I had a sneaky suspicion they might be popular this Halloween, so I set about making one from a lovely soft jumper for the top half, and my pieces of thick cotton muslin I had used for experimenting with natural printing were perfect for the wrap-around skirt. The costume is based on Daenerys Targaryen’s outfit with the Dothraki in series one….

Super hero costumes

Super heroes are bound to be a common sight at Halloween this year. I loved kick-ass and can’t wait to see the sequel. I also thoroughly enjoyed Batman a few years ago, but apart from that, I can’t say I’m a big fan of super hero comics or films. Never-the-less, they make a perfect costume opportunity, and so I’ve gathered a few of my favourites from the hand-made community of Etsy….
