Glastonbury Festival was sorely missed last year, and we’re well and truly ready for another one. There’s already a buzz around Pilton and the local area – lots of caravans are being towed past the house; and Shepton Mallet Tescos usually has more than its share of interesting vans in the carpark lately. If you don’t know me, I moved to Pilton eleven years ago, but have been going to Glastonbury Festival since 1995, and absolutely love it….

We asked what Jude would like to do for her Twentieth birthday (yes, you did hear me correctly: twentieth birthday) and she asked to go out for afternoon tea. I’ll be honest, when I agreed, I was thinking more like at a National Trust cafe, but Jude had in mind the full afternoon tea experience. Apart from on a cruise, I’ve never done this, (it’s the sort of thing I’ll do when I grow up) so was looking forward to experiencing the proper deal….

A sneak peek at Glastonbury Festival 2017 a week before the fun starts!

This is mainly a photography post as there isn’t a great deal to say about it really! I had the opportunity to have a walk around the Glastonbury Festival site last night, so of course I took my camera with me! I also vlogged it, so when I’ve had chance to edit the footage, I’ll add that too. I’m pleased to report that the ground underfoot is very firm and the grass very green. It amazes me how much there is still to do in the next six days, but so much has happened in the last week, I’m sure they’ll manage it!….

A day in out in Bath during Fashion Week

I don’t need much persuading to go to Bath – it’s a beautiful city and considering how close we are, I really should go more often. It’s the annoyingly slow and windy drive that puts me off I think. Anyway, considering clothing is one of my favourite things, I thought I’d go during Bath in Fashion Week. I chose one paid-for event, which was the talk with Livia Firth on sustainable fashion, and was pleased to see on the website that there were plenty of free things going on that day as well….

We’ve already scouted out an abandoned farmhouse that was literally just up the road; and then we found Nunney castle – only a fifteen minute drive and looked perfect for a gothic wedding photo shoot…

The things I have learned since moving to Somerset

Today marks the one year anniversary of when, by the light of my mobile phone, we found the keys under a flowerpot for our new house. Wow! I cannot believe it’s been a year already; but on the other hand, I do feel like a visitor when I go back to Tonbridge; and I do feel I belong here now. I have no regrets about our relocation at all. Here’s a list of a few things I’ve discovered.
