Victor Frankenstein starring James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe
March 10, 2016
This review is coming from the point of view of someone who has never read Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein or seen any other film about it, and first thing I can say is that I don’t think that mattered at all, and may have even been better that way. I mean, Mary Shelley wrote the book in 1818 where-as the film was set roughly 1870s I would say, judging from my recent in-depth research into the late Victorian period. I couldn’t find any definitive information on this online either, so perhaps the film-makers deliberately kept the date ambiguous. It peaked my interest though; particularly as the beginning is set at a circus…
Vintage Fair, Wells + tips for vintage clothing sellers
March 4, 2016
Conveniently situated right next to a car park, so you can carry your vintage haul easily back to the car before looking round the shops in Wells High Street! It’s a small vintage fair organised by Vintage Somerset (A great website by the way, full of vintage shopping info), and takes place in Seager Hall on Union Street. And I wasn’t impressed with the £1 entrance fee, given the size….
Holiday with Ocean Florida

Well it was! The problem is, holidays to Florida to the theme parks are soooo flipping expensive, it’s not surprising to look for the best rate possible. My advice is if you can afford to go with a better company, then do so. You get what you pay for in this case. If you can’t afford better, then there are some things you just need to be aware of before you go. Of course you may have no problems what-so-ever, but this review is based on our experience…..
Sherlock location, Tyntesfield Manor + Happy New Year!
January 4, 2016
Happy New Year folks! I hope it’s an amazing one for you. We celebrated at home with the fireworks on the telly and it was a lovely night. (A little disappointed that the big house down the road didn’t do their usual display that we watch from our garden, but oh well!) Despite the crappy weather, we wanted to go somewhere on the last weekend of the holidays, so we decided to go to the National Trust property and filming location of the recent Sherlock special, Tyntesfield Manor…
