Slissie review
A chance to curb your cravings? A review of the Slissie
June 5, 2017
This is a new product, so I’ll begin by telling you what on earth a Slissie is! To be honest, it’s a bit difficult to explain, but it’s a weight-loss device that looks a little bit like a vape, and you suck on it like it is a vape, however there’s no actual vapour! Instead, it releases a burst of flavour into your mouth, and the idea is that it will trick your brain into thinking you’ve eaten something sweet, and therefore your cravings will be satisfied without actually having the calories of eating anything…..
Spring lookbook – Styling a pink ruffled jumper; a black skater dress, and Pretty punk inspiration
May 9, 2017
My Weekly Wardrobe is no more! Sadly I don’t have the time to keep up with as many posts as I used to be doing, so I’ve decided to make monthly look-books instead with all my recent outfits together. It means each post is going to be a bit longer – I hope you don’t mind! So this one goes right back to Mothering Sunday when I wore the above outfit for our walk around the Glastonbury Festival site. We also have a glittery ruffled pink jumper teamed with a a 1950’s style circle skirt and lastly a black skater dress with a cool neckline….
I knew I should never have given her that fifty pounds
March 19, 2017
It was one of those freezing cold miserable January days. Everyone is depressed because the fun of Christmas is over and cold and flu bugs are going around everywhere and it was no wonder I’d caught it too. There was no-one at work to cover for me, so I trudged in, coat and scarf wrapped around me, and hoped I wasn’t on the perfume till near the door. My manager took pity on me and gave me the best spot at the back and near the heater. Amy must have forgotten I work at Boots on Mondays. Or perhaps she didn’t know – my shifts do change around a bit. Anyway, I spotted her browsing over the other side and I admit, my attention wasn’t wholly on my customers. She was at the makeup aisles for three-quarters of an hour! Has she not got anything better to do? She swatched lipsticks and tested eye-shadows and I couldn’t believe it when I saw her take a basket of expensive make-up to the tills on the other side. I knew I should never have given her that fifty pounds. It isn’t like I’m rich; it isn’t like I wouldn’t like to spend fifty quid on make-up for myself. How dare she?…..
Is it time to start making an effort?

Fashion and Beauty are terms that generally go hand in hand, particularly when describing the genre for some bloggers. However, whilst I am always interested in what’s on the catwalk, I can’t honestly say I’m all that bothered about ‘beauty’. I like looking at the craftsmanship of couture clothing, but I’m not rushing out to buy the latest eyeshadow primer. I suppose my interest has increased in the last six months or so when I’ve started blogging and making You Tube videos and my image is out there a bit more; and it got me thinking about how I’ve thought about beauty products over the years and how it’s changed…..
Monthly Memoir – June
July 1, 2016
What a tricky month June has been in the world of politics. I think it is a real shame we left the EU, but just as I thought we might be ok, Michael Gove puts himself forward for the leadership. I think I would have to leave the country if that happens! Anyway, for me it’s been my busiest month of the year, as I was making cup carriers and bottle bags to be sold at Water Aid stands at Glastonbury Festival. I’m not entirely sure how my sewing machine coped, but in the end I delivered two hundred and seventy-five altogether….
